According to The Times of India, 60-year-old Mohankar went fishing in the afternoon and was planning to head to his farm afterward. When he did not return home by evening, his sons raised the alarm. They sought help from villagers and together they began searching for their father.
Around 11:00 p.m., the group came across the partially devoured and mangled body of the man. It was later confirmed that the victim was Mohankar. He became the 41st person killed by wild animals in the state.
