Kazakhstanis will get additional days off
In March, Kazakhstanis will celebrate two public holidays: International Women's Day (March 8) and Nauryz Meiramy (March 21–23). Due to holiday shifts, residents of the country will have additional days off.
As a result, in March 2025, Kazakhstanis with a five-day workweek will have 14 days off, while those with a six-day workweek will have 10 days off.
How Kazakhstanis will rest on March 8, 2025
International Women's Day (March 8) falls on a Saturday, so the holiday will be moved to Monday, March 10, giving Kazakhstanis a long weekend:
For a five-day workweek – March 8, 9, and 10 will be days off.
For a six-day workweek – March 8 and 9 will be days off, while March 10 will be a working day.
How Kazakhstanis will rest for Nauryz in 2025
Nauryz is one of the most significant and anticipated holidays of the year. In 2025, the holiday falls on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so the weekend will be extended by shifting the days off to March 24 and 25 (Monday and Tuesday).
For a five-day workweek, Kazakhstanis will enjoy a five-day break from March 21 to March 25.
For a six-day workweek, the holidays will be on March 21, 22, 23, and 24, but Tuesday, March 25, will be a workday.
Professional and Other Holidays in March
March also brings several professional and commemorative dates:
March 1 – Gratitude Day. On this day, it is customary to express appreciation and uphold the spirit of mutual respect among citizens.
Second Saturday of March – Day of Land Surveying, Geodesy and Cartography. This holiday honors specialists engaged in the development and cartographic support of the country's territories.
