Almaty Metro reduces train intervals during peak hours
Tengrinews.kz - Almaty Metro has announced a change in train intervals during peak hours.
The interval between trains during morning and evening rush hours will now be reduced to 3 minutes and 6 seconds, thanks to the introduction of two additional train sets.
"This change aims to improve travel comfort and reduce the load on trains during peak demand periods. The simultaneous operation of 13 trains will help passengers reduce waiting times on platforms and avoid overcrowding," the statement reads.
Metro specialists will continue to monitor passenger traffic and are prepared to adjust the schedule if necessary.
Previously, from September 5, 2024, in response to the start of the academic year and increased passenger traffic, Almaty Metro had been operating 11 trains with a peak-hour interval of 5 minutes and 38 seconds.
