Tigers brought to Kazakhstan show signs of mating instinct
"This indicates that they have successfully adapted to their new environment, and the conditions created by Kazakhstani specialists have proven to be comfortable for their survival and reproduction," the ministry stated.
The adaptation process for the predators involved territory exploration and stress minimization. Mating is a crucial sign that the tigers feel safe, raising hopes for offspring in the near future. Their cubs could lay the foundation for a new tiger population in Kazakhstan.

The return of tigers to Kazakhstan is part of a broader effort to restore the ecosystem and enhance biodiversity.
"We will continue to monitor the fate of Bogdan and Kuma and look forward to a possible addition to the tiger family," the ministry added.
Kazakhstan's tiger reintroduction program launched in 2018 with the support of WWF and UNDP. The project has now entered a new phase, with plans to release both captive-born cubs and wild tigers from the Russian Far East into the wilderness.
Previously, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Erlan Nysanbayev announced that Kazakhstan plans to bring Amur tigers from Russia in 2025 as part of a project to restore the Turanian tiger population.
