Kazakhstan will extradite criminals to Qatar under new treaty

The Head of State has signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters."

Additionally, on March 17, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar on Extradition."

In October 2024, it became known that a delegation from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, visited Doha (Qatar), where a meeting was held with Qatar’s Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
At that time, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in combating crime, including countering organized criminal groups, drug trafficking, extremism, cybercrime, as well as joint efforts in tracking down individuals and exchanging expertise.
