'A rare sighting': argali captured on video in Karkaraly National Park
The video was published on the park's official Instagram account. The exact time of filming is not specified. According to park representatives, these are unique shots.
“The argali is an animal listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book, a symbol of strength and endurance. Spotting it in the wild is a great stroke of luck and clear evidence that the park’s ecosystem is being preserved,” the park’s statement says.

The organization’s website notes that Karkaraly National Park in the Karaganda Region is home to 46 species of mammals, 234 species of birds, 6 species of reptiles, 2 species of amphibians, and 15 species of fish. Among the rare animals listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book found here are the argali, black stork, golden eagle, eagle owl, booted eagle, and steppe viper.
