Almaty Akimat explained where on Saina Street you need to drive at 60 km/h and why the speed limit was changed

Tengrinews.kz — Traffic management has been updated on a section of Saina Street in Almaty. New road markings and a speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour have been introduced.
According to the Almaty Transport Department, the changes apply only to the southbound section from Ryskulov Avenue to Tole Bi Street. On the rest of Saina Street, the speed limit remains unchanged.
The department explained that the changes became necessary following the extension of Saina Street to Monke Bi Street, which significantly increased traffic flow in the area.

Changes beyond the speed limit
The situation was particularly difficult near the Domillion shopping center, where exits from overpasses and a tunnel merge. Frequent lane changes often forced drivers to brake sharply and perform dangerous maneuvers.
To improve safety and organization, specialists narrowed the existing lanes to create an additional fourth lane. According to the Almaty Urban Mobility Department, this solution will allow drivers to change lanes more smoothly and reduce the risk of accidents.
The 60 km/h speed limit is also intended to make traffic flow more uniform. This is especially important for this section, as it is immediately followed by interchanges at Raiymbek Avenue and Tole Bi Street, which feature numerous exits and entrances.
