Two new state awards to be introduced in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz — Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has decided to add the Shamsı Qaldaiaqov Medal and the honorary title of “Honored Artist of Kazakhstan” to the list of state awards. This was announced by Presidential Adviser and Press Secretary Aibek Smadiyarov, citing the Akorda press service.
He noted that culture and art are an unwavering foundation of Kazakhstan’s national identity.
“Therefore, the New Constitution establishes comprehensive support for national culture at the highest legal level as one of the fundamental principles of the state. In this regard, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has decided to add the Shamsı Qaldaiaqov Medal and the honorary title of ‘Honored Artist of Kazakhstan’ to the list of state awards,” his statement said.
Note: August 15 marked the 96th anniversary of the birth of prominent composer and People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Shamshi Kaldayakov (1930–1992).
Aibek Smadiyarov clarified that these honorary awards will be presented to citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of national culture, including in the fields of music and visual arts.
