Driver punished for upside-down license plate in Astana

Tengrinews.kz — Astana police stopped a Shacman truck that was being driven with its license plate turned upside down, the city police department reported.
Police said the driver had flipped the license plate in an attempt to avoid liability.

“As part of the nationwide ‘Law and Order’ preventive operation, police identified a violation involving the operation of a vehicle with a state registration plate that did not comply with established requirements. During the inspection, officers stopped a Shacman truck whose state registration plate had been turned upside down. The driver was held administratively liable for operating a vehicle with a knowingly falsified state registration plate,” the Astana Police Department said.

Police reminded drivers of the need to strictly comply with traffic regulations and requirements governing state registration plates.
