Professions that could disappear in Kazakhstan named

Tengrinews.kz — Minister of Labor and Social Protection Askarbek Yertayev has named the professions that could disappear as technology and artificial intelligence continue to develop.
The minister made the remarks during a government meeting.
According to Yertayev, artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping Kazakhstan’s labor market. Some professions may disappear, most will be transformed, while entirely new areas of employment will emerge.

“Some professions will disappear. These include text processors and typists, data entry clerks and proofreaders. Most professions will be transformed. Entirely new areas of activity will emerge,” Minister Yertayev said.

At the same time, Kazakhstan’s need for new workers remains high. Taking replacement demand into account, the economy will require 2.9 million workers by 2035, including 1.8 million skilled workers.
According to the Labor Minister, the greatest demand is expected in industry, construction, agriculture and IT.

“In this regard, the list of the most in-demand professions is being expanded from 51 to 174. These include engineering, construction, manufacturing, biotechnology, green energy and nuclear energy,” Askarbek Yertayev said.

Kazakhstan’s labor force currently stands at 9.8 million people, of whom 9.4 million are employed. More than half of the vacancies posted on the Electronic Labor Exchange are for skilled trades and blue-collar occupations.
Yertayev said that amid technological change, the workforce training system must stay ahead of developments by identifying promising professions in advance and promptly updating qualifications and educational programs.
Context
The Labor Ministry previously said that professions most at risk from the development of artificial intelligence are those involving routine information processing and repetitive tasks. These included secretaries, assistants, operators, clerical workers and accounting staff.
