Kazhydromet warned residents of Astana, Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of Astana, Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Tuesday.

“On September 8, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Astana,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions associated with air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors, such as calm conditions, light winds, fog and temperature inversions, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.
In Astana, partly cloudy and dry weather is expected. Southeasterly winds will reach 5–10 meters per second. Temperatures will range from +12…+14°C at night to +28…+30°C during the day.
In Almaty, partly cloudy and dry weather is forecast. Northeasterly winds will reach 3–8 meters per second. Temperatures will be +14…+16°C at night and +29…+31°C during the day.
In Ust-Kamenogorsk, partly cloudy and dry weather is expected. Northeasterly and easterly winds will reach 2–7 meters per second. Temperatures will range from +8…+10°C at night to +27…+29°C during the day.
