Reached the shore on his own - what is known about the second surviving soldier on the Caspian

Tengrinews.kz — Beket Myrzagaliyev, a 19-year-old serviceman from the Atyrau region, was one of three survivors of the Caspian Sea tragedy. According to his mother, Beket managed to reach the shore on his own after the servicemen were swept out to sea. His family learned the details of the incident only upon arriving in Aktau the following morning, citing "Ak Zhaik".

In the initial hours, Beket Myrzagaliyev’s family knew only that he was alive; they did not learn the specifics of what had happened until they arrived in Aktau the next morning.
Earlier reports suggested the serviceman had been hospitalized following the tragedy, and his family believed he was receiving medical care. However, upon seeing their son in the morning, they discovered that he had not been taken to the hospital.
The soldier's mother, Karlygash Myrzagaliyeva, stated that Beket is currently doing well and is able to move around independently.

"Thank God, my son is alive. We arrived in Aktau this morning and saw him. He is safe and sound, and he is walking on his own. He managed to reach the shore through his own efforts. I believe further details will emerge once the investigation is complete," she said.

Beket Myrzagaliyev is from the village of Makhambet in the Atyrau region. He began his conscripted military service on October 3, 2025, serving in military unit No. 29011 in Aktau.
According to Beket's mother, the ordeal has been a severe trial for the young servicemen.

"Our children are still very young, and what they have endured will stay with them for the rest of their lives," the woman said.

She also expressed her condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.

"This is a profound tragedy for all of Kazakhstan. It is impossible to put into words what the parents are feeling right now. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the mothers and fathers of the boys who died. May no one else ever have to go through such an experience," said Karlygash Myrzagaliyeva.

The circumstances of the tragedy are currently being established as part of an ongoing investigation.
Relatives of the deceased share memories
Meanwhile, on social media, relatives, friends, and loved ones of the fallen servicemen are posting photographs and videos from family archives.
For the family of 20-year-old Azamat Madikhan, the final days before the tragedy were supposed to be a time of anticipation for his return home. He had only nine days left in his service. His relatives were already preparing to welcome him back and were planning a large celebration with family and neighbors.

Tragedy on the Caspian Sea
On September 24, during naval exercises in the Mangistau Region, several servicemen were swept out into the Caspian Sea. They were performing training and combat missions on the Caspian coast when weather conditions suddenly deteriorated and winds intensified.
Initial reports stated that 19 servicemen were swept out to sea. The Mangistau Region Akimat later clarified the figure to 17 people.
It was previously reported that 12 people have died three people were rescued. One of the survivors is currently hospitalized.
A government commission has been created to investigate the tragedy. It is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. The commission is to establish the causes of the tragedy and assist the families of the deceased.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the deaths of the servicemen, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of what happened.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the servicemen who died. On September 25, the Head of State declared a day of mourning.
The Ministry of Defense has announced the conclusion of the search operation in the Caspian Sea waters.
