Tengrinews.kz — The autumn migration of flamingos, which are listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book, has begun in the Mangystau Region. The first birds have already arrived at the Karagiye-Karakol Nature Reserve, one of their key seasonal stopover sites.
According to the reserve, the arrival of flamingos indicates the stability of the ecosystem and the preservation of biodiversity in the region. In autumn, the area traditionally becomes an important resting and feeding place for the pink birds during migration.

“Flamingos are among the most recognizable birds, distinguished by their long legs, curved beaks and pink plumage. In autumn, the reserve becomes one of the important stopover sites for flamingos during their seasonal migration,” the reserve said.

According to zoologists, bird migration plays an important role in environmental protection and the preservation of the country’s natural heritage.
