Bektenov addresses new defense minister

Tengrinews.kz - At a government meeting today, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov addressed the new Minister of Defense, Aidos Myrzakhmetov.

“The Head of State has set important tasks for reforming military service. Aidos Myrzakhmetov, we believe that you will fully justify this high level of trust,” Bektenov said before the meeting began.

As a reminder, on September 27, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed Aidos Myrzakhmetov as Kazakhstan’s Minister of Defense. Before his appointment, Myrzakhmetov commanded the Special Operations Forces.

On the same day, the President held a meeting with the senior leadership of the Ministry of Defense and set tasks for a comprehensive reform of the armed forces. In particular, the discussion focused on improving combat readiness, revising approaches to military training, strengthening troop management, and ensuring the safety of military service.

Later, Myrzakhmetov held his first working meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry, where he instructed officials to begin implementing the tasks set by the President.
