A car drove onto the grounds of the Triumphal Arch in Astana: video

Tengrinews.kz — A traffic accident occurred at the Triumphal Arch on Mangilik El Avenue in Astana. A driver damaged the perimeter fencing and crashed onto the monument grounds. Tengrinews.kz correspondents visited the scene of the incident.
The driver of a silver SUV appears to have damaged the decorative bollards and chain link fence before entering the pedestrian zone.
The cause of the accident and whether there are any casualties remain unknown at this time. We have reached out to the Police Department for comment.
Police officials reported that a patrol unit is already at the scene. They promised to provide a detailed comment later.

According to the Astana Police Department, the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling along Mangilik El Avenue from Bukhar Zhyrau Street when they lost control of the vehicle, struck a road barrier, and drove onto the plaza grounds.

"There were no injuries as a result of the accident. The vehicle has been impounded and taken to a municipal parking lot," the statement read.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the driver.
