What Tokayev and the Sultan of Oman discussed during their meeting in Astana
The two leaders held a brief conversation in the airport's arrival hall.
The Head of State welcomed the Sultan’s visit, emphasizing its historic significance for the development of bilateral relations.
During the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Oman is well known as a successful state that has achieved significant economic results and plays a highly active and constructive role as an international mediator.
"Your country enjoys well-deserved prestige not only in its own region but also far beyond its borders, including in Kazakhstan. I am convinced that the partnership between our countries has significant potential that is yet to be fully unlocked and effectively realized," President Tokayev said.
Haitham bin Tariq Al Said thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that the upcoming negotiations would be substantive and successful.
The visit’s itinerary includes high-level negotiations, the signing of several key documents, and the participation of the heads of state in the Kazakh-Omani Business Forum.

Notably, on October 5, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the Sultan of Oman at the capital's airport, who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit. A guard of honor and the presidential orchestra were lined up on the tarmac to honor the distinguished guest.
