Tengrinews.kz — Russian media outlets have reported the detention of a Kazakhstani citizen suspected of involvement in a cyberattack on the Dodo Pizza chain. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has commented on the situation.
Statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs
During a briefing at the Central Communications Service, Beybit Birzhanov, head of a department within the Ministry's Cybercrime Counteraction Division, stated that the agency has not received any official notification regarding the detention of a Kazakhstani national.

"According to our current information, the detention of a Kazakhstani citizen has not been confirmed. Consequently, no measures have been taken against our citizens. No one has officially notified us of any detention," Birzhanov said.

He added that since the alleged crime took place on Russian territory, further inquiries should be directed to the Russian authorities.
Background on the Dodo Pizza Breach
Earlier, Russian media reported that three out of four suspects in the Dodo Pizza network hack had been detained. Reports suggested the suspects included citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
According to the published data, the stolen database allegedly contained 6.5 million unique phone numbers, data on 6.7 million customers, and details of over 59 million orders from Kazakhstan alone.
Dodo Pizza confirmed the cyberattack, admitting that the perpetrators may have gained access to customer names, addresses, phone numbers, and order histories.
