A year after the death of 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) in a bungled operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, President Aquino expressed dismay over the slow pace of justice for the fallen police commandos as he vowed anew to hold accountable those behind the incident. Likewise, the Department of Justice (DOJ) assured the relatives of the slain police commandos that it is focusing on delivering justice to all concerned. “Like you, I am becoming impatient with the slow justice system in the country. As the saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied,” the President said at a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the Mamasapano massacre yesterday in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
