Filipinos, particularly those belonging to the predominant Roman Catholic religion, marked one of the holiest days in Christianity – Good Friday – by commemorating the death of Jesus Christ. In Jaro, Iloilo City, devotees outside the grounds of the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral re-enact a “Santo Entierro (Holy Burial) religious procession while in the southern Negros Occidental town of Toboso, the religious faithful lovingly kiss the face and forehead of the fallen Christ in repose within the local church.
