Winning and losing candidates in the recent elections better file their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) early as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has no plan of extending the June 8 deadline. The poll body warned that a winning candidate without a SOCE will be asked to vacate his post. “Our deadline is on June 8. It is non-extendible. If you fail to file it by that date, it’s considered not filed,” Comelec Commissioner Christian Robert Lim said in an interview. An incomplete SOCE, he said, as well as those that do not conform to the prescribed form shall also be considered not filed. The SOCE contains the list of contributions received by the candidate or party; list of expenditures; list of any unpaid obligations; its nature; and amount.
