UNICEF calls for stronger support for positive parenting
Regional and international experts on Child Protection and Early Childhood Development gathered this week in a UNICEF organized Regional Conference in Manila urging national government and NGO partners to scale up interventions that promote positive parenting to end violence, abuse and exploitation of children. “We need sustainable programs that educate parents to improve parenting practices on children’s rights and development; and help them improve their skills to manage their children’s behavior. Positive parenting is the foundation in curbing violence at home and in the community.” UNICEF Philippines Representative Lotta Sylwander said.
