SCE&G files for new rate increase to fund nuclear plant construction

South Carolina Electric & Gas is asking state regulators to approve a rate increase under a state law that lets the utility charge customers in advance for the financing costs of two new reactors at the V.C. Summer nuclear plant in Jenkinsville.
