Jazz Artists of Charleston will start a new community service program called "Jazz in the Joint," a project that brings live jazz music to the inmates of jails and prisons throughout South Carolina. Seven local musicians will perform first at Lieber Correctional Institute in Ridgeville at 10 a.m. Oct. 4.
