Ingmar de Vos ins Exekutivkomitee des IOC gewählt
FEI-Präsident Ingmar de Vos wurde heute im Rahmen der 145. IOC-Session in Mailand (im Vorfeld der Olympischen Winterspiele 2026) in das Exekutivkomitee des IOC gewählt.
Today, FEI-President Ingmar de Vos was elected into the executive committee of the IOC during the 145th IOC-session prior to the Olympic Winter Games 2026.
Ingmar De Vos, der seit 2017 IOC-Mitglied ist, wurde von seinen Kollegen in geheimer Wahl für eine Amtszeit von vier Jahren gewählt. Er wird sein neues Amt nach Abschluss der 145. IOC-Session am 22. Februar 2026 antreten. Das IOC-Exekutivkomitee ist das oberste Leitungsgremium des IOC und verantwortlich für die Überwachung der Organisation und die Umsetzung der Beschlüsse der IOC-Session. Es wurde 1921 gegründet und besteht aus dem IOC-Präsidenten, vier Vizepräsidenten und zehn von der IOC-Session gewählten Mitgliedern.
„Die heutige Wahl ins IOC-Exekutivkomitee ist eine große Ehre“, sagte das neu gewählte IOC-Exekutivkomiteemitglied Ingmar De Vos. „Ich bin zutiefst gerührt von diesem Ergebnis und möchte meinen IOC-Kollegen, mit denen ich fast ein Jahrzehnt lang zusammenarbeiten durfte, meinen aufrichtigen Dank aussprechen. Diese neue Aufgabe bringt auch eine große Verantwortung mit sich, insbesondere in einer Zeit, in der die Olympische Bewegung im Rahmen des von Präsidentin Kirsty Coventry initiierten Prozesses „Fit für die Zukunft“ einer tiefgreifenden Überprüfung unterzogen wird.
„Die Wahl von Ingmar De Vos in das Exekutivkomitee des IOC ist ein bedeutender Moment für den Reitsport“, kommentierte Quentin Simonet, Präsident des Europäischen Reitverbandes. „Seine Wahl in die höchste olympische Führungsebene ist ein starkes Zeugnis seines tiefen Verständnisses und seines Engagements für die Olympische Bewegung und darüber hinaus für die entscheidende Dynamik des Reitsports in der sich wandelnden olympischen Landschaft.“
Ingmar De Vos, who has been an IOC Member since 2017, was elected by secret ballot by his peers for a term of four years. He will assume his new role following the conclusion of the 145th IOC Session on 22 February 2026.
The IOC Executive Board is the supreme governing body responsible for overseeing the management of the organisation and implementing the decisions taken by the IOC Session. It was founded in 1921, and consists of the IOC President, four Vice-Presidents and 10 members elected by the IOC Session.
“Today’s election to the IOC Executive Board is a great honour,” newly elected IOC Executive Board Member Ingmar De Vos said. “I am deeply humbled by the result and would like to express my sincere gratitude to my fellow IOC Members, alongside whom I have had the privilege of working for nearly a decade. This new role also carries significant responsibility at a time when the Olympic Movement is undergoing a profound review as part of the “Fit for the Future” process initiated by President Kirsty Coventry.
“Ingmar De Vos’s election to the IOC Executive Board is a significant moment for equestrian sport,” Quentin Simonet, President of the European Equestrian Federation, commented. “His election to the highest level of Olympic governance is a strong testament to his deep understanding of and commitment to the Olympic Movement, and more broadly to the crucial dynamism of equestrian sport within an evolving Olympic landscape.
