Lady Captain’s Weekly News 9th December 2024

What glorious weather we are having here in Spain. Very chilly mornings but once the sun rises absolute heaven. The club has put the annual Christmas tree up with decorations and it is really beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Anne Middlehurst helped us get into the Christmas spirit on Wednesday with her wreath making class in the Alicia Riquelme Room. All the ladies thoroughly enjoyed themselves with Christmas songs, cava and mince pies. The talent there is at the San Roque Club on and off the golf course is amazing.

Anne also scored 34 with the same shots as Debbie – on countback
Debbie nipped her to the post.

I was lucky enough to be playing with Anne – I did mention to her that she was doing well with the Birdie competition – So I am taking credit for inspiring her. Must be a RECORD 5 Birdies in one round, brilliant.

We have had some great golf this week from the ladies. The condition of the course and the perfect weather have contributed. Special mention goes to Anne who has either been on the winning podium or close all week. Tammy who was pipped twice for the winning spot losing on handicap to Sharon on Tuesday and Anne on Thursday.
