Arsenal are interested in signing "world-class" 27yo star with £48m asking price - report
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic during the summer transfer window.
The United States international has been a key performer for the Rossoneri since he arrived from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
His current deal with the San Siro giants expires in June 2027 and as things stand, Milan have yet to negotiate a renewal.
Pulisic is said to be frustrated over the situation, and Tuttomercatoweb claim that it may be too late to convince him to stay.
Arsenal and Liverpool are especially keen on bringing the attacker back to the Premier League.
A separate report from Calciomercato has revealed that the former Chelsea man could be sold for £48 million this summer.
Pulisic speculation could be agent-driven
The 27-year-old managed 26 and 29 goal contributions during his last two seasons at Milan. He played as an attacking midfielder or a right winger.
Pulisic, described as ‘world-class‘ by ex-United States star Alexi Lalas, has continued his good form this term, registering 10 goals and two assists from 20 appearances.
The former Blues attacker has played as a second striker in a 3-5-2 system under manager Massimiliano Allegri, showcasing his versatility on the pitch.
Despite this, we don’t see the Gunners making an approach for Pulisic, who had an underwhelming record during the back end of his Blues career.
Pulisic struggled to cope with the higher intensity of the Premier League, and had a couple of lengthy knee and ankle injuries during his last two seasons.
The attacker has been less injury prone in the Serie A, which is less intense and more tactical, but his fitness levels could be tested on his return to England.
Arsenal have the attacking midfield and right wing positions well covered through Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.
A left winger could be signed to replace Leandro Trossard whose contract expires in June next year.
Pulisic can operate from the left wing too, but the Gunners are likely to focus on a marquee signing, who is a specialist in the role ahead of next season.
The speculation involving Pulisic could be agent-driven in order to speed up contract talks with Milan.
