US stocks rise again on Fed

Wall Street stocks climbed for a third straight session Friday in the wake of the Federal Reserve's lowered path for future interest rate increases.

Near the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 17,595.04, up 113.55 points (0.65 percent).

The broad-based S&P 500 gained 8.65 (0.59 percent) at 2,049.24, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index rose 20.66 (0.43 percent) to 4,795.65.

Analysts said the market continued to benefit after the Fed Wednesday kept interest rates unchanged and scaled back projections for hiking them due to global growth worries.
