France to propose stronger European defence policy: Hollande

France is to announce a proposal to strengthen European defence policy and expects Germany to back its initiative, President Francois Hollande said Wednesday.

"I note that our German friends are also prepared to be involved. We will therefore be able to launch this initiative together," Hollande said.
