Two years ago they secretly exchanged vows in a courthouse in New York City. A few months later (on September 30, 2019) they tied the knot again in a South Carolina church, in front of family and friends. Today, the bridegroom, Justin Bieber kisses the bride, Hailey Baldwin, on the cover of Vogue Italia’s October issue shot by Eli Russell Linnetz. The couple appears in a special issue of our magazine, dedicated to Helmut Newton and celebrating the artist’s centenary.
The October issue is centered around Helmut Newton’s creative world and was created in collaboration with the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin. To honor the wonderful love story of Newton and his wife, Alice Springs, and the artist’s copious and complex couple portrait photography, we asked one of today’s closest celebrity couples, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber, to appear in a Newton-esque photo shoot. The two posed in a studio against a backdrop featuring images of places related to Newton’s life and work, like the Berlin Wall and the Helmut Newton Foundation.
