Pronti a volare? Ora si può fare, e non è nemmeno difficile con Jetson ONE: è il primo velivolo eVTOL, cioè un aereo elettrico a decollo e atterraggio verticale, monoposto e pieghevole ribattezzato la «prima bici volante del mondo» perché è perfetto per gli spostamenti brevi. Anzi, è stato progettato proprio per questo. Il primo prototipo è stato presentato nel 2018 e dopo un periodo di rodaggio ora è pronto. Per guidarlo - stando a quando dice l'azienda che lo produce, cioè la svedese Jetson fondata da Tomasz Patan e Peter Ternstrom - non serve nemmeno avere una patente speciale.

Come si guida

Per guidare Jetson ONE, in effetti, basta spingere su una leva per accelerare e manovrare un joystick e dei pedali per monitorare i movimenti. A farvi evitare gli ostacoli ci pensa la tecnologia tecnologia LIDAR, o Light Detection And Ranging che genera una mappa dell'area circostante con dei raggi laser. Insomma, succede tutto con la massima facilità, anche grazie alla forma ovale di questa «bici volante» che ne ottimizza l'aerodinamicità, e alla sua leggerezza: pesa appena 86 chili perché è stata costruita con alluminio e fibra di carbonio, ispirandosi alle auto di Formula 1.

La potenza di Jetson ONE

Jetson ONE si muove grazie a una batteria agli ioni di litio che può generare fino a 120 Cavalli di potenza e arrivare a 100 chilometri orari. Si ricarica in un'ora e dura 20 minuti: sì, non molto, e in effetti sulla carta è proprio questo il limite, ma l'azienda ha già fatto sapere che sta già lavorando per migliorare le prestazioni. Intanto la sicurezza è assicurata: il velivolo è stato progettato in modo da funzionare anche in caso di guasto, e per ogni emergenza c'è un paracadute. «In Jetson siamo impegnati sin dall’inizio nello sviluppo di soluzioni meravigliosamente semplici per la mobilità e il trasporto aereo. Jetson One è la nostra proposta per il volo ricreativo e divertente», ha detto Peter Ternstrom nel presentare il velivolo all'opera in un video diventato virale. «Chiunque può imparare a volare in meno di cinque minuti. La nostra mission - ha proseguito - è trasformare tutti gli automobilisti in piloti di eVTOL nel giro di un decennio».

«Ci auguriamo che Jetson ONE sdogani l’idea di eVTOL nell’opinione pubblica. Anche se un mezzo del genere può sembrare fantascienza, quello che stiamo mostrando è un prodotto funzionante a tutti gli effetti», ha proseguito Tomasz Patan. Ci riusciranno? Quel che è certo è che la loro idea ha già avuto uno strepitoso successo: Jetson One costa 80 mila euro e ci sono già tremila preordini (alcuni dei quali, come si vede sul loro sito, anche dall'Italia) perciò se state facendo il pensiero di comprarlo dovete mettervi in fila. I primi posti disponibili per le consegne sono a fine 2023 e intanto va anche versata una caparra di circa 20 mila euro.
