Telegram might be removed from the App Store: what it means for users and how to prepare for it
What happened?
Telegram is facing legal issues in various countries, which could lead to its removal from the App Store. This would result in the automatic removal of the app from Apple devices and create difficulties for users.
Possibility of removal
Although the likelihood of Telegram being automatically removed from Apple devices is low, the risk still exists. This could happen if the app is removed from the App Store and company policy requires its removal from devices to comply with new terms of use.
How to Prepare?
To avoid potential issues with the automatic removal of Telegram, users are advised to take the following precautions:
Open "Settings" on your device;
Go to "Screen Time";
Tap on "Content & Privacy Restrictions".
Swipe the slider in the "Content & Privacy Restrictions" to enable it, if it wasn’t already enabled;
Go to "iTunes & App Store Purchases";
Find "Deleting Apps" and select "Don't Allow".
These simple steps will help protect Telegram on your device, even if it is removed from the App Store.
