Tokayev signed law on commodity exchange trade and entrepreneurship

Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law addressing issues of commodity exchange trade and entrepreneurship.
The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Issues of Commodity Exchange Trade and Entrepreneurship."
The full text of the law will be published in official print media.
The legislation outlines key objectives and principles for regulating commodity exchange activities. It expands the powers of the government, authorized bodies, and antitrust authorities while removing commodity exchanges from the category of small and micro business entities. It also introduces licensing requirements for brokers and clearing centers on commodity exchanges.

"The law includes specific measures to enhance state oversight of participants in commodity exchange trade and excludes commodity exchanges from the list of small business entities," the Senate’s press service previously reported.

Additionally, the law seeks to protect investors’ rights by establishing a special registry of investors for monitoring investment activities within Kazakhstan. Decisions by state or local executive bodies to conduct inspections of investors listed in the registry will require prior approval from a prosecutor.
Earlier, President Tokayev signed amendments on education and protection of children's rights.
The President's Advisor and Press Secretary, Berik Uali, announced that an extensive interview with President Tokayev will be published in the newspaper Ana tili on January 3, 2025.
