Kazakhstan will restrict use of National Fund resources
Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan will impose restrictions on the use of National Fund resources, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced at an extended government meeting chaired by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"The National Fund's resources will be requested exclusively for the construction of major infrastructure projects, as per your directive. At the same time, we will enhance the efficiency of government spending and strengthen budget discipline," the prime minister stated.
In his report, Bektenov also pointed out that subsidies are continuously increasing across all sectors without considering their actual impact and with weak oversight from government agencies.
Earlier, Olzhas Bektenov made a statement regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
Today, an extended government meeting is taking place in Astana with the participation of the Head of State. Officials will review the country's socio-economic development results for 2024 and outline key priorities for the near future. Presentations will be given by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov, and several regional akims (governors).
