“Do not panic or believe rumors“: Sirens to sound in parts of Kazakhstan on February 6 morning
Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Emergency Situations has warned that sirens will sound in several regions of Kazakhstan on the morning of February 6.
At 11:00 A.M., sirens will be activated simultaneously in 11 regions of the country as part of a test of the public alert system under the signal "Attention everyone!" The ministry urged citizens to remain calm and not to panic or believe rumors.
The siren test is part of the first phase of the national command and staff exercise "Koktem-2025," scheduled for February 6-7 in the southern and western regions of Kazakhstan. The drills will focus on preparing government services to respond to potential emergencies during the flood season.
The national headquarters coordinating the exercises will be based in Atyrau. Over two days, preventive activities will take place in Almaty, Shymkent, as well as in the regions of Almaty, Atyrau, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, Turkestan, and Zhetysu.
Previously, sirens were last activated across Kazakhstan in November 2024 during the "Kys-2024" national command and staff exercise.
