Footage emerged from the scene of fire at Saryarka mall
Tengrinews.kz - Firefighters in Astana have contained a fire in a two-story annex of the Saryarka shopping mall.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), Kanat Dospayev, Deputy Chairman of the Fire Service Committee, is at the site. The fire was classified as a second-category fire.
"A second-category fire was declared. The fire covered an area of 50 square meters. No casualties. Currently, 50 personnel and 10 firefighting units are working at the scene. The fire was outside, the annex is still standing, as you can see. The entire mall was evacuated. Investigators are on-site. Right now, we're working, using a thermal imaging camera for inspection. I think we'll finish within half an hour," Dospayev told journalists.

At 12:01 P.M., the MES reported that the fire had been extinguished, covering an area of 50 square meters. No casualties were reported.
