Kazhydromet issued warning for residents of Astana and 5 other cities

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has warned residents of Astana and other cities across various regions of the country.

"On February 26, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Aktobe, and Astana," the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions refer to a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the lower layer of the atmosphere.
On February 26, Astana will experience variable cloudiness, precipitation (rain, snow), and icy conditions. Fog is expected at times. A ground blizzard will occur during the day. The southeast wind will blow at 9-14 m/s, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s during the day. The temperature will be -4 to -6°C at night and 0 to +2°C during the day.
Earlier, meteorologists warned Kazakhstanis about a sharp cold snap and a snowstorm.
