Sanctions on Kazakhstani companies: Minister Shakkaliyev’s responds
Tengrinews.kz - Two Kazakhstani companies have been subject to sanctions by the European Union. Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev was asked whether they continue their activities.
On the sidelines of the Mazhilis, Arman Shakkaliyev confirmed that two companies were subject to sanctions: Kazstanex and Metallstan LLP.
"They were engaged in the supply of equipment for metalworking. The companies were engaged in this before. Today, according to the information available to authorized bodies, they do not carry out foreign trade activities. They work within the country," Shakkaliyev said.
The minister added that the enterprises did not close, but changed their type of activity. Previously, they were also on the sanctions lists of the United States and Canada.
In addition, in June 2024, the Kazakhstani company Da Group 22 was included in the 14th package of sanctions of the European Union. It was also reported that this LLP has not carried out import or export activities since May 2023. This year, it was included in Japan's sanctions list.
