Kazakhstanis arrive five hours early for Jennifer Lopez concert in Astana
Some concertgoers arrived five hours before showtime, hoping to secure their seats early and soak in the atmosphere of the major event without the rush or crowds.
Traffic near the stadium intensified well before the gates opened, with fans arriving from across the capital and beyond. Many attendees chose to park in nearby neighborhoods and walk to the venue to avoid traffic jams.
Tengrinews’s photojournalist captured scenes of joyful anticipation: people smiling, chatting, taking selfies, and sporting festive outfits — including custom-printed shirts for the occasion. Many came prepared for Astana’s unpredictable evening weather, wearing comfortable shoes and bringing light jackets.
Police were stationed around the stadium perimeter, and security had already cordoned off the area. Road closures were planned for the evening during the concert.
To ease access, shuttle buses were organized to transport attendees to the venue. Entry to the stadium was scheduled several hours before the concert start, with six designated gates for different sectors.
Inside the arena, final preparations were underway as technicians fine-tuned the lighting, sound, and stage setup for the big show.
Jennifer Lopez’s performance in Astana is part of her Up All Night tour. She is also scheduled to perform in Almaty on August 10.
