Kazakhstan welcomes Trump’s Gaza peace plan – Tokayev’s spokesman

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan supports US President Donald Trump’s comprehensive peace plan aimed at ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip, presidential press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay said.

“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan views this initiative as a unique opportunity and a crucial step toward resolving the situation in the Middle East, strengthening interstate trust and establishing a lasting and just peace in the region,” Zheldibay wrote.

Trump’s Gaza plan
Earlier, Trump presented a 20-point proposal at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing optimism about a quick resolution to the war between Israel and Hamas. He said Netanyahu had accepted the plan, adding that if Hamas rejected it, the US would give Israel full support in actions against the group.
According to the White House, the plan requires that within 72 hours of approval by Israel, Hamas must release all Israeli hostages. In exchange, Israel would free hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and gradually withdraw its forces from Gaza.
The document envisions Gaza becoming a demilitarized zone free of terrorism. Hamas would renounce any role in governing the enclave, while members of the group who surrender arms could be granted amnesty or allowed to leave the territory.
The plan does not include annexation or occupation of Gaza by Israel.
