Tokayev congratulates teachers on their professional holiday

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated teachers on their upcoming professional holiday, Teacher’s Day, and emphasized their crucial role in society.
In his message, Tokayev referred to the words of Mirzhakyp Dulatov, which resonate deeply:"A teacher is the person who brings the greatest benefit to the people."
Tokayev highlighted that teachers are key figures in the lives of individuals, guiding students on their life paths and not only imparting knowledge but also shaping character. He stressed that the level of development and civilization of any society is determined by how it treats its teachers.
In a country where the work of teachers is highly regarded, an educated generation is sure to grow, paving the way for a bright future. Tokayev expressed his sincere gratitude to all educators for their dedication and invaluable contributions to the prosperity of the nation.
Focus on education and science
The President emphasized that in order to become a leading nation, the development of education and science must be prioritized.

"Over the past five years, significant progress has been made in this area. The budget for education has increased threefold. Over 1,200 new schools have been built. The national project ‘Keleshik Mektepteri’ (Future Schools) is underway, and 150 modern educational institutions have been built. Additionally, 67 more schools are under construction. All necessary conditions are being created for children to receive quality education," Tokayev stated.

Tokayev also mentioned that the government has adopted a special law to improve the status and social conditions of teachers. The law includes concrete measures to raise teachers’ salaries, which have doubled in recent years.
Earlier today, Tokayev also spoke at the first meeting of the Artificial Intelligence Development Council, where he addressed the importance of considering the risks associated with the use of AI in education. He tasked the government with implementing comprehensive measures to ensure academic integrity in the context of AI.
