Tokayev holds talks with Hungarian president
Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the President of Hungary, Károly Tamás Sulyok, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
Tokayev thanked Sulyok for accepting his invitation to visit Astana, noting the importance of the visit in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
"Your first official visit is a significant event in terms of reinforcing our partnership. Hungary was one of the first European countries to recognize our sovereignty, and Budapest was the first European city to host our official diplomatic mission. We maintain very close ties with your country in many areas. I am confident that this trend will continue, as it aligns with the interests of both nations. Therefore, we will do everything possible to further strengthen our cooperation in both political and economic spheres," said Kazakhstan’s President.
Sulyok expressed gratitude for the hospitality and emphasized that the two countries maintain an active dialogue based on trust, mutual respect, and historical connections.
"The friendship between our peoples has deep historical roots. I believe that today our political relations have reached a high level, and we also have excellent economic cooperation. As noted at the Digital Bridge 2025 conference on artificial intelligence this morning, the future relations between our two countries also hold great potential. We plan to implement many joint projects and initiatives," emphasized the Hungarian president.
During the talks, the two sides discussed expanding trade and economic partnerships and highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural and educational ties between Kazakhstan and Hungary. They also exchanged views on key issues in the international agenda and cooperation within multilateral structures.
