Kazakhstan to be buried in snow: weekend weather forecast

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for 14, 15 and 16 February.
Cyclone to bring heavy precipitation
According to the forecast, at the beginning of the period most of Kazakhstan will remain under the influence of a ridge of high pressure, with dry weather prevailing.

“Starting from 15 February, a northwestern cyclone will begin to move into the western part of the country. As it shifts eastward, it will bring rain and snow, ground blizzards, as well as a gradual increase in temperatures across the country,” the forecasters said.

In the south and southeast of Kazakhstan, due to the passage of atmospheric frontal waves associated with a southern trough, unstable weather with rain and snow will persist throughout the entire period, with heavy precipitation expected on 14–15 February.
Strengthening winds, icy conditions, and fog are expected across the country.
