Sofya Samodelkina ranks among the top 10 figure skaters in the world

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh figure skater Sofya Samodelkina has placed among the top 10 figure skaters in the world. The women’s figure skating competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy has concluded, with Samodelkina securing a spot in the top 10, citing the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
After the short program, Samodelkina was in 12th place. In the free skate, she earned 138.99 points from the judges, bringing her total score to 207.46, a new personal best. This performance moved her up to 10th place overall.
The gold medal was claimed by Alysa Liu (USA) with a score of 226.79, followed by Kaori Sakamoto (Japan) in second place with 224.90. Ami Nakai (Japan) took third with 219.16.

Samodelkina received powerful support during her free skate performance at the Olympics.
As a reminder, in men’s singles, Kazakhstan's Mikhail Shaydarov won the Olympic gold medal.

He was among the first, along with the President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennady Golovkin, to congratulate Sofya on her remarkable achievement.
