Kazhydromet warns residents of seven cities, including Aktobe

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for residents of seven cities.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for the coming Wednesday.

“On April 8, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Atyrau, Aktobe, and Aktau,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions in the form of air pollution refer to a combination of short-term weather factors — calm conditions, light wind, fog, and inversion — that contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to forecasters, Aktau is expected to have partly cloudy weather with no precipitation. Southeasterly to southerly wind at 3–8 meters per second. Air temperature: 7–9°C at night and 16–18°C during the day.
In Aktobe, partly cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected. Northeasterly to easterly wind at 5–10 meters per second. Air temperature: 2–4°C at night and 17–19°C during the day.
In Atyrau, partly cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected. Southeasterly wind at 3–8 meters per second. Air temperature: 7–9°C at night and 17–19°C during the day.
In Karaganda, partly cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected. Fog is possible at night and in the morning. Northeasterly wind: 2–7 m/s at night and 7–12 m/s during the day. Air temperature: 7–9°C at night and 16–18°C during the day. In Karaganda Region, light rain is expected in the west at night; during the day, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west, and light rain and thunderstorms in the north. Fog is also possible at night and in the morning in the west, north, and east. Northeasterly wind at 7–12 m/s, with gusts up to 15 m/s in the west and north during the day. Air temperature: 5–10°C at night, 13°C in the south, 2°C in the east; 13–18°C during the day, and 22°C in the south.
In Zhezkazgan, partly cloudy weather, rain, and thunderstorms are expected. Northeasterly wind: 2–7 m/s at night and 5–10 m/s during the day. Air temperature: 10–12°C at night and 16–18°C during the day.
In Ust-Kamenogorsk, partly cloudy weather with no precipitation is expected. Fog is possible at night and in the morning. Easterly wind shifting to northwesterly: 0–5 m/s at night and 2–7 m/s during the day. Air temperature: 0–2°C at night and 16–18°C during the day.
