Snow and hail: weather to change sharply in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Forecasters at Kazhydromet have issued the weather forecast for April 11, 12, and 13.
According to the forecast, unstable weather conditions will persist across most of Kazakhstan in the coming days due to the frequent shifts between cyclones and anticyclones.

“Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west and south of the country. In the northwest, north, east, and central parts of the country, precipitation is forecast at night in the form of rain and snow, while daytime precipitation will fall as rain. On the night of April 11, snow is expected in the east of the country. On April 11, heavy rain and hail are expected in the west of the republic,” the statement says.

Fog is also forecast across Kazakhstan.
Earlier, forecasters said that March 2026 in Kazakhstan was marked by record temperature swings — from severe frosts at the beginning of the month to abnormally warm weather by the end. At the same time, a 109-year-old temperature record was broken.
