Billions in damages and hundreds of cases: NSC reports on anti-Corruption Efforts

Tengrinews.kz — A total of 201 corruption offenses were registered in Kazakhstan in July and August 2026. Some 140 people were named as suspects in criminal cases, while the established amount of damage totaled 3.7 billion tenge, according to the National Security Committee (NSC) press service.

According to the committee, anti-corruption units registered 201 offenses in July and August. Most of the cases involved bribery, embezzlement, fraud, abuse of office and exceeding official powers.

A total of 140 people were recognized as suspects in criminal cases.

Over the two-month period, NSC officers completed investigations into 126 criminal cases. Of these, 110 were sent to court for further consideration.

The total amount of established damage in the completed criminal cases amounted to 3.7 billion tenge.
