Georgia extradites woman suspected of embezzling 238 million tenge to Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Georgia has extradited to Kazakhstan a woman suspected of embezzling state subsidies. The damage is estimated at 238 million tenge, citing the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to investigators, from 2020 to 2023, the suspect organized a criminal scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for state support of agricultural producers.

“To carry out the criminal intent, she used controlled peasant farms registered to trusted individuals, as well as fictitious contracts for the purchase and sale of pedigree cattle and other forged documents, on the basis of which preferential loans and state subsidies were illegally obtained,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

The damage caused to the state and other victims exceeds 238 million tenge.
The suspect went into hiding, after which she was put on the international wanted list. In March, she was detained in Georgia and extradited to Kazakhstan at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The woman was placed in a pre-trial detention facility. She faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The Prosecutor General’s Office recalled that since the beginning of the year, seven people have already been extradited from Georgia, five of whom were wanted for embezzlement.
As a reminder, Turkey extradited to Kazakhstan the head of a structural unit of The Finiko financial pyramid, who had been on the international wanted list since 2022.
