Shots rang out near a residential building in Astana; eyewitnesses called the police

Tengrinews.kz — On Thursday evening, capital police received a call reporting shots fired in the courtyard of a residential building. Patrol crews were dispatched to the scene.
The police department's press service informed the editorial office of the incident.

"Preliminary findings indicate that a group of intoxicated young individuals was behaving aggressively in the courtyard. To prevent further unlawful actions, one of the residents fired a warning shot into the air using a gas pistol," the department explained.

All participants were detained at the scene and taken into custody. Measures will be taken against the offenders in accordance with the law.
The press service clarified that reports circulating on social media regarding injured residents are untrue.
The department reminded the public that spreading deliberately false information carries legal liability and urged Kazakhstanis to rely solely on official sources.
