Bodies of two fishermen searched for several days in East Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – A search is underway in East Kazakhstan Region for two fishermen who drowned. The tragedy occurred on Lake Zaysan in Tarbagatai District. Due to strong winds on the lake, a boat carrying three men capsized, citing KTK.
The bodies of the drowned men have been searched for for a second day. According to rescuers, one of the fishermen, a 58-year-old man, managed to swim to shore on his own and was helped by local residents. His two companions drowned.
According to the report, the men were not wearing life jackets. A large-scale search operation is now continuing at the scene of the incident. The regional Emergency Situations Department noted that a storm warning had been issued in the region the day before.

“Forces and resources of the Emergency Situations Department have been deployed, including watercraft, drones and boats. Local residents are also taking part in the search using boats,” said Marina Liskova, press secretary of the East Kazakhstan Region Emergency Situations Department.
