No job is completely safe or healthy. Even seemingly harmless desk jobs are killing us, thanks to the stressful environment and sedentary nature of many modern-day office gigs.

But some jobs intrinsically pose much greater health risks than others.

Working as a chemical plant operator or nurse, for instance, is far more dangerous and less healthy than working as a college professor or music director.

A controversy is brewing after a document claimed that two major pharmaceutical companies may have misled a medical journal by leaving out some critical data on their drug.

The drug in question is Xarelto, a blood thinner used to treat and prevent blood clots approved in 2011. In 2015, Xarelto made about $1.8 billion in US sales. But it's also the subject of more than 5,000 lawsuits, 500 of which involve patient deaths.

It's one of those things where once you hear about it, it makes perfect sense: France is going to start paving its roads with solar panels. 

French ecology minister Ségolène Royal recently announced the plan to "solarize" 1,000 km (about 620 miles) of road over the next five years. 

If successful, it'll reportedly provide power for over 5 million French people, or 8% of the population.
